National plan against drug abuse and drug addiction - Portugal

11/05/2012

Gesaworld Group has won the project to perform an External Assessment of the National Plan against Drug Abuse and Drug Addiction in Portugal. The plan was implemented during the period 2005-2012 and it was sponsored by the Instituto da Droga e da Toxicodependência, I.P. The project evaluates the strategic reorientation of the country concerning drug abuse and drug addiction. The plan looks for more integration and proximity, higher quality in participation and a point of view centered in the affected individuals. The assessment to be done includes a structured evaluation of the national political approach in recent years relative to the fight against drug abuse and drug addiction. This is expressed in a plan that becomes the political instrument for orientation in the whole country. The assessment will also include a benchmarking with other European countries that will provide comparative information with national results. The Gesaworld Group team in charge of the assessment project is multidisciplinary. There are national and international professionals with ample expertise in medicine, criminology, sociology, political sciences, economy, psychology and social services among other areas.
